No Sleep for the Gamers

Well, it's been a few really cool days, the past week I didn't get much sleep, I was just reading and jumping through videos from Gamescom.

It's a freaking nug!! It's soooo cute!!!
I'm most excited about Dragon Age Inquisition, it looks great, it seems they have really listened to gripes about the both the second and the first game and are set on taking the best from both and adding things that just blew my mind. I'm all like "OMG it'll be as cool as Skyrim BUT with the story of a Dragon Age game! Awesome!!!" I'm thinking that they'll actually deliver. Sure all games have things that bug you and this one most likely will too, but I think it'll be a really wonderful experience to play it... though I'll probably need a new computer by then.
Gameinformer has a lot of articles and videos here: http://www.gameinformer.com/dai

Also Thief looks really cool, I'll probably get that and of course Witcher 3 looks amazing, but of course my current computer should be top notch for a game as old as the second installment but it staggers like a drunk with one leg when I play on the highest settings, and though it's excellent it's really a little too difficult for me in some parts, I have to admit I'm up for a challenge, but in the end I don't want my games to stress me out.

And then there was The Sims 4... yeah... I don't know, obviously pre-alpha software, textures and lighting and such are far from done, they're only showing off the tools, the basics that are done, the finished game will look better than it does now... I hope... because frankly looking at above games and then finding out that they'll probably not even implement weather... god! (I don't recall which article I read that, go to Snooty Sims there's a bunch of links there from people who went to Simscamp etc.)

Anyway, the CAS tools look really cool, so cool in fact that I think they will feel like they were always there, and the little we've seen of building I think it'll be a really powerful tool. I do think they're overstressing the whole "smart emotional" Sims though, I do believe that multitasking will make a huge difference, but your Sim getting home from work all depressed when you're trying to get him together with the girl next door? Yeah, that's gonna be one of those things...

I do think it'll be a really cool game, a really really cool game and I will obviously get it, I'll start to play it and never look back, all the while complaining about the things we had in the previous games that they'lll bring back slowly to make money. Hopefully some kind soul will start recreating meshes from TS3 and importing them into TS4 once the tools exist.
